New York, NY (November 10, 2020) – Ericom Software, a leader in secure web and application access solutions, today announced strong year-over-year sales through October 2020 for its security product portfolio. On pace for record growth in 2020, demand has been driven by the secure work-from-home initiatives tied to COVID-19, as well as the market’s adoption of innovative Zero Trust Security and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) security frameworks. Ericom highlighted the growth of its Remote Brower Isolation (RBI) cloud service and the August launch of its new Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) product, Ericom Application Isolator, as key contributors to the company’s momentum.

As organizations accelerate plans to move their business-critical applications to the cloud, they have embraced Gartner’s SASE framework and have realized how RBI plays a key role in enabling secure access to the web and applications for their remote workforces. Specifically, in Gartner’s Hype Cycle for Network Security, 2020 report, VP and Gartner Fellow Emeritus Neil MacDonald noted that “we (Gartner) see RBI being a critical capability in the future delivery of a secure access service edge (SASE), supporting integration with secure web gateways, cloud access security brokers, and zero trust network access services. RBI also is used in the reverse direction when unmanaged devices are accessing sensitive data and applications.”
Ericom Shield RBI prevents ransomware, advanced web threats, and phishing attacks from reaching user endpoints by executing web content in a remote, isolated cloud-based container. Whether users browse to a malicious site independently or by clicking a URL embedded in a phishing email, they are completely safe since no web content is ever executed directly on their device. Only safe-rendering information is sent to a device’s browser, providing a fully interactive, seamless user browsing experience. Websites launched from URLs in emails can be rendered in read-only mode to prevent users from entering credentials for additional phishing protection. As important, attached files can be sanitized before being transmitted to endpoints, ensuring that malware within downloads cannot compromise users’ devices.
In August, Ericom introduced Ericom Application Isolator, a solution that integrates with existing remote access Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Next Generation Firewalls (NGFWs) to protect corporate applications and data from the security risks associated with excessive access rights inside a network.
The solution provides a simple yet powerful way to enforce identity-based microsegmented access controls and addresses security risks like ransomware spread created by the broad access rights granted to users, authorized and unauthorized, and devices, managed and unmanaged, on today’s “flat” corporate networks.
Ericom significantly expanded the number of partners in its PowerPartner Reseller Channel Program and announced domestic and international distribution agreements with solution providers such as Tech Data, Arrow Electronics, e92plus, and Softprom. Additionally, the company worked with technology partners such as Forcepoint, Citrix, Palo Alto Networks, ContentKeeper, IGEL, Alps System Integration Co., and others to integrate Ericom Shield RBI with their respective security solutions. The strategic partnership with Forcepoint introduced a joint solution named Forcepoint Remote Browser Isolation powered by Ericom, which delivers Ericom’s RBI capabilities within Forcepoint’s Dynamic Edge Protection cloud-native SASE solution, including Forcepoint Cloud Security Gateway and Private Access.
Ericom Global Cloud
Ericom continued the expansion of the Ericom Global Cloud’s footprint, adding a number of new points of presence (PoPs) in Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East in 2020. This elastic cloud platform is deployed on Tier-1 cloud infrastructure partners and automatically connects users to the closest location where pre-defined RBI security policies are consistently enforced. Each PoP location is capable of dynamically increasing capacity and processing to accommodate changing data traffic needs. Its high-availability, high-performance architecture ensures an excellent user experience for organizations leveraging Ericom’s RBI services as part of their SASE security framework.
Ericom added a number of key cybersecurity leaders to its team in 2020. Simon Moran, Michael Santacross and Matthew Howes joined the executive team in January to build out Ericom’s channel and business development partnerships, and John Peterson started a month later in his role as Chief Product Officer, guiding the company’s product strategy and supporting its go-to-market efforts. Later in 2020, Ravi Pather joined the organization as Vice President of Sales for Europe and the Middle East.
